House Bill 1481 is a new Texas law that bans the use of personal communication devices by students during the school day on school property. This includes devices like cell phones, personal laptops, and wireless earbuds. The law aims to reduce distractions in the classroom and improve student focus and well-being.

Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, Kaufman ISD students will not be permitted to use their devices during the school day. All cell phones and other personal devices must be powered off and safely stored away.
