At Kaufman High School, the safety and security of our students and staff are our highest priorities. To ensure our campus remains prepared for any situation, we will be conducting our state-required safety drills for the current semester today (Monday, January 12).

These exercises allow us to practice our emergency protocols and ensure that everyone on campus knows exactly what to do in the event of an emergency.

Good evening. I hope you have all had a restful break and enjoyed your time with your family. We will report back tomorrow with breakfast in the library at 8am! Tomorrow, January 5th, is a teacher workday. You have the day to work in your classrooms and prepare for the spring semester. If you are a Biology or U.S. History teacher, your workday will be on Tuesday due to Lead4Ward training. Your training tomorrow is as follows: Biology - 8:30-11:30 - JH Library U.S. History - 12:30 - 3:30 - JH Library I will schedule a time to meet with all PLC's. I can't wait to see everyone!

Because of your overwhelming generosity during Adopt-a-Kid 2025, 4-year-olds all across our district were able to experience a truly special Christmas this year.

Witnessing 1,200 of our high school students come together to bring food, drinks, and gifts to support the less fortunate in our community is a sight that never fails to bring tears to my eyes. It is a powerful reminder of the character, empathy, and heart that defines KHS.

A special thank you to the KHS National Honor Society and their sponsors, Brandy Hartley and Tim McMahon, for their hard work and leadership in making this happen. And, of course, a huge shoutout to the one and only Santa Claus! 🎅

Thank you to every student, parent, and staff member who contributed to making this holiday season brighter for our Little Lions. We are so proud of you!

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and rejuvenating Thanksgiving break. We're hitting the ground running, and I'm excited for a productive final push before the Christmas break. Please note the following items for this week: EOC Testing • State EOC Retesting: State End-of-Course (EOC) retesting begins this Tuesday. Please refer to Mrs. Webb's separate email for the detailed testing schedule, assigned locations, and specific proctor responsibilities. Your cooperation in maintaining a quiet and focused environment is greatly appreciated. Adopt-a-kid & Class of 29 Fundraising • Freshman Class Dodgeball Fundraiser: Come support the Freshman Class at their Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser this Friday, December 5th! This is a great opportunity for some fun competition while helping the Class of 2029 raise funds. See Coach Villanueva’s email for details on participation and spectator tickets. • Adopt-a-Kid: A reminder to talk with your 3rd period class regarding the Adopt-a-Kid. This is a profound opportunity to serve and give back to our little lions this holiday season. Your generosity makes a huge difference. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hartley. Welcome back! With two different testing days this week and a pep rally on Friday, we will not have VP time this week. Tuesday we will be on our normal bell schedule and Thursday we will be on our testing schedule.

📣 Tuesday, October 21: Come cheer on our Lady Lions Volleyball team as we celebrate Senior Night! Let’s pack the gym and show our support for these incredible athletes.

🎓 Wednesday, October 22:

Seniors will take the SAT here on campus. Remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook and charger!

Our KHS Band will also be competing in Mesquite — good luck, band! We’re proud of you!

✏️ Thursday, October 23:

Juniors and Sophomores will take the PSAT — don’t forget those charged Chromebooks!

Seniors will participate in Senior Academy Day, exploring next steps after high school.

🏈 Friday, October 24: It’s Teacher Appreciation Night at Lions Stadium! Join us as we honor our incredible educators and cheer on our Lion Football Team as they take on Corsicana. Let’s fill the stands and make it a night to remember!

As a reminder, VP begins at 10:17. Only students moving to intervention or students moving to a different teacher for coverage should be leaving the classroom at this time. All others should remain in class and work on the assignment from the counselors. Check the spreadsheet for students who have VP as well as your email. If you have students who need to attend VP, I tried to email those names to you directly.
