Welcome back! With two different testing days this week and a pep rally on Friday, we will not have VP time this week. Tuesday we will be on our normal bell schedule and Thursday we will be on our testing schedule.

We hope everyone had a restful and refreshing Fall Break — we’re excited to kick off the second quarter strong! It’s a big week ahead at Kaufman High School, filled with opportunities to celebrate our students and staff:

📣 Tuesday, October 21: Come cheer on our Lady Lions Volleyball team as we celebrate Senior Night! Let’s pack the gym and show our support for these incredible athletes.

🎓 Wednesday, October 22:

Seniors will take the SAT here on campus. Remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook and charger!

Our KHS Band will also be competing in Mesquite — good luck, band! We’re proud of you!

✏️ Thursday, October 23:

Juniors and Sophomores will take the PSAT — don’t forget those charged Chromebooks!

Seniors will participate in Senior Academy Day, exploring next steps after high school.

🏈 Friday, October 24: It’s Teacher Appreciation Night at Lions Stadium! Join us as we honor our incredible educators and cheer on our Lion Football Team as they take on Corsicana. Let’s fill the stands and make it a night to remember!

As a reminder, VP begins at 10:17. Only students moving to intervention or students moving to a different teacher for coverage should be leaving the classroom at this time. All others should remain in class and work on the assignment from the counselors. Check the spreadsheet for students who have VP as well as your email. If you have students who need to attend VP, I tried to email those names to you directly.

Kaufman High School Update – First Week Success! 🦁✨
We’ve had an incredible start to the school year—it’s truly been a joy to have our students back on campus!

First Friday
Today, we kicked off our First Friday, reviewing all things Kaufman High School with our students. We wrapped up the day with our required safety drills so we’re fully prepared for a fantastic year of learning and growth.

Cell Phones
Our students have been doing an outstanding job following our cell phone expectations! Please continue to encourage them to keep their phones turned off and stored in their backpacks during the school day. Your partnership makes a big difference—thank you!

Dress Code
We also revisited the dress code with all students today. A quick reminder: please help us ensure students are dressed appropriately for school so they can focus on learning and success.

Accountability Ratings
The 2024–2025 ratings were released today, and Kaufman High School has once again earned an A rating, with distinctions in:
Academic Achievement in Social Studies
Academic Achievement in Math
Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth
Postsecondary Readiness
Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps

Additionally, the 2023–2024 ratings were recently announced, and we were also an A-rated campus, earning distinctions in:

We’re kicking off today with class meetings to connect with our students and review our campus expectations for a successful year. Dear Kaufman High School Students and Families,
Welcome to the first day of the 2025–2026 school year at Kaufman High School! Our staff is excited to see our returning Lions and welcome those joining us for the first time. Today marks the beginning of a year filled with new opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement.

Class Schedules and First Period
When students arrive, first-period class rosters will be posted in several locations throughout the school. Students should check the lists to find their first-period room. During first period, teachers will provide each student with a paper copy of their full eight-period schedule and review important first-day information.

We’re Here for You
Our teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, and administrators are here to support students every step of the way. If you have any questions, concerns, or needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
