KHS Utilizes Flex Intervention Time for Student Success

With our first UIL Eligibility Check nearing, now is the perfect time for students to take advantage of KHS’s daily 30-minute Flex Intervention period.

This dedicated time allows students to complete missing assignments, make corrections, study, get extra help from teachers, and work to improve their grades, all during the school day.

And our students are seeing the benefits:

“I don’t have to stay up until 1:00 a.m. after volleyball doing homework.” - Kyleigh Price

“I get time to check my grades and see what I need to improve on.” - Andre Andrade

“I get to finish all of my work and get my grade up. If you want to be successful, it’s worth the time.” - Jacob Guerrero

Teachers are seeing the difference, too. Mrs. Williams appreciates having time built into the school day to work with students who may ride the bus or otherwise have difficulty attending tutorials. Mrs. Chandler says the period allows her to tutor with intentionality while other students work on test corrections, helping prevent gaps in learning. Mrs. Hartley especially values the small-group setting and the opportunity to work individually with students.

For our student-athletes, intervention also helps balance academics and athletics. “It allows students to go for tutoring without missing practice time.” - Coach Maly
