KISD Sports Hall of Fame
Each year the Kaufman Independent School District continues the tradition of honoring its outstanding athletes and coaches with selection of members to the KISD Sports Hall of Fame. Former Pyle High School and Kaufman High School athletes and coaches who meet the eligibility requirements are selected for inclusion into the Hall of Fame.
2017 Inductees into the Kaufman ISD Hall of Fame were Coach Todd Michael Gent; Jay Rodney Nelson, KHS Class of 1968; Emmy Ellis, KHS Class of 1988; and Dr. Hurley E. Miller, KHS Class of 1989.
Hall of Fame activities and the KHS Homecoming game are planned together to enable alumni and current students to come together. On the day of the annual KHS Homecoming game, the Hall of Fame inductees are honored at a luncheon with family, friends, and community members in attendance.
In the evening inductees are introduced before the start of the football game. Inductees and family members are invited to walk out on the field through the mighty Lions' tunnel and inductees are asked to participate in the opening coin toss.
Nominations for induction into the KISD Hall of Fame may be submitted anytime during the year but must be received by August 31st for consideration in that year's selection. Nomination requirements and forms are included on this website. Please send nominations to Kathie Fivecoat at email@example.com, or mail to Kathy Covington Administration Building, Kaufman ISD, 1000 S. Houston Street, Kaufman, Texas 75142. Inductees are notified of their selection and later announced in the Kaufman Herald. For more information please feel free to contact the Superintendent's Office at 972 932-2622.
