As the skill level and requirements for our future workforce evolve and advance, so too must the knowledge, skills, and flexibility of our future workers.

The presence, and availability, of Career and Technical Education programs have become increasingly important to keep up with the industry demands of tomorrow. Kaufman ISD’s Career and Technical Education programs allow students the opportunity to gain industry-level knowledge and experience in a variety of fields.

Kaufman ISD offers 13, state-approved, CTE Programs of Study across 9 Career Clusters. Each of these programs provides our students with the knowledge and skills, in their chosen area of study, to have a competitive advantage in either entering the workforce or continuing their education in an advanced technical or academic field of study.

In addition to the knowledge and skills needed to be competitive, Kaufman ISD’s CTE Programs also offer students the opportunity to earn numerous Industry-Based Certifications as a representation of their academic and technical achievements. Kaufman ISD’s CTE Programs also offer several Dual Credit opportunities that allow students to earn both high school and college credit upon the successful completion of the course.

CTE Programs of Study provide for our students a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in a lasting career field. The knowledge, skills, confidence, and motivation that our CTE Programs of Study instill in our students will help to ensure their future success.

In effect for the 2025-2026 school year, any incoming Senior who has not earned CTE Completer status, and is not currently CCMR compliant in any of the College, Career, and Military Readiness indicators as set forth by TEA, will be required to enroll in the next CTE course in succession within their primary CTE Program of Study before they will be allowed to enroll in Teacher’s Aide or Early Release electives.

*CTE Completer Status - A student completing and passing three or more 19 TAC Chapter 126(C), 127(B) or 130 CTE courses for a total of four or more credits within a program of study, including one level three or level four course from within the same program of study.

*Enrollment in Career and Technical Education courses are open to all students without regard to race, color, creed, religious affiliation, sex or handicapping conditions.
