Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome to Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center.  On behalf of the faculty and staff, I want to extend a warm and cordial welcome to each family that we serve in our community.  Our goal at Helen Edwards is to empower our students and their families to achieve academic success through quality educational experiences along with age appropriate social skills training.  Serving as the leader of your child’s school, I understand the importance of providing each child with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.  To help each child begin their academic journey, we use a holistic educational approach by exploring and addressing academic, social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs.  To facilitate growth in these areas, our campus offers programs such as Kidsville, Kidstraks, Motor Lab and our Computer Lab, just to name a few.  In the classroom, we implement instructional strategies that include visual cues, small group instruction, flexible grouping and differentiated instruction for all students.

I strongly encourage you to be involved with your child’s education and support his/her learning by spending time talking with them about their school day.  Reading with your child on a regular basis is one of the best ways you can help your child and support their educational future.  I would like to personally invite you to visit our school by volunteering your time and skills in our Parent Center, reading to students in our library, attending our Lunch and Learns, or by surprising your child during lunch time.  We want you to feel welcomed and an integral part of the learning community here at Helen Edwards!
