FASFA

Students need to apply for all financial aid available. This ensures students receive as much money for school as possible.
 
Seniors meet with Mrs. Smith at the beginning of each school year. Seniors receive a “Senior Folder” with scholarship applications and FAFSA information.
The college financial aid process is starting early. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) can now be submitted as early as October 1.  
 
If you are planning to file your federal financial aid form online, it is best to complete a Pre-Application Worksheet instead of a paper FAFSA to guide you along. A printable version of the worksheet will be available at the following website: www.studentaid.ed.gov, or after January first you may obtain a copy of the worksheet from Section 1 of the FAFSA on the Web home page, follow link below.

TASFA

The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) is used to collect information to help determine eligibility for state financial aid programs that are administered by institutions of higher education in the state of Texas. Students that are classified as a Texas Resident who cannot apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are encouraged to complete the TASFA.

  • KISD Local Scholarship (in Senior Folder)
  • Always look for scholarships at your preferred college. They have scholarships specific to their school.
