There are two options for students that choose the At-Home model:

Option 1 – Remote Online Learning
Students will remain at home and learning using an online learning platform combined with electronic teacher interaction.  Students will engage in learning activities between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every school day.  Students will be required to complete assignments on a prescribed daily schedule and may not work ahead or fall behind.  All daily assignments and the daily engagement log must be submitted electronically each school day by 2:00 p.m.  Chromebooks will be checked out to all High School and Junior High students that need one.

Option 2 – Remote Learning with no Internet
Students will stay at home and learn using electronic packets that can be downloaded weekly combined with teacher interaction via text, email, or phone.  Students will be required to connect to Wi-Fi once a week to turn assignments and to download the packet for the following week.  Free Wi-Fi will be available in school parking lots.  Students will engage in learning activities between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every school day.  Students will be required to complete assignments on a prescribed daily schedule and may not work ahead or fall behind.  A daily engagement log must be submitted by text, email, or phone each school day by 2:00 p.m. Chromebooks will be checked out to all High School and Junior High students that need one.

Option 2 is the least desirable method.  Students who choose this option will be required to attend extended learning sessions once the COVID-19 threat subsides in order to obtain credit and be promoted to the next grade.  These extended learning sessions may include evening tutorials during the spring, attendance during spring break, summer school, and other possibilities as determined by the school district.

At-Home instruction will be designed for mastery of student learning outcomes based on the academic standards called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for each content area.
