Robotics

Kaufman Jr. High offers two Robotics classes. In this class, we utilize Lego ev3 Robot kits, Mindstorm software and various Lego Robotics materials. The objective of this course is to introduce students to basic programming as well as problem solving strategies. Students will work hands-on in teams to design, build, program and document their progress. Students will work with motor control, gear ratios, torque, friction, sensors, timing, programming loops and switches, decision-making, timing sequences, and more. Student designed robots will be programmed to compete in F.I.R.S.T. Lego League. After the FLL season, students will work through an obstacle course challenge, SUMOBot challenge and various other projects to enhance their mechanical, programming and presentation skills.
