School Safety Update #2:
This afternoon, Kaufman ISD Administration and Kaufman ISD PD were notified of several “Snapchats” being circulated referencing a possible school shooting being threatened to occur at KHS on Monday October 23rd. Officers and KHS Administration have continued to work on the investigation throughout the day, and as a result a second KHS student has been taken into custody. The student, a male, was taken into custody for the offense of Terroristic Threat, a Third Degree Felony, and was transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center. With this second arrest, both the student that made the original comments regarding the act of violence and the student that perpetuated the allegations via social media are both in custody and will not be on campus on Monday. KISD is committed to maintaining a safe and secure school environment, and will have additional KISD Officers on duty Monday morning at KHS. Any students or parents that have any information regarding this incident, or any concerns about the situation, please contact KHS Administration or KISD PD at Kaufman High School.
